Russell and Ron Go Camping

Russell and Ron Go Camping--Byron in the car

Ron and Russell Heading for the Hills

Some of you have heard me tell the story of this camping trip. Ron and I slept in the rain.  Well, recently, I found that Von and Fawn had sent me these three photos. Well over a year ago. I thought I had forwarded the email account they used to my general account, but it turns out that wasn't the case and there were well over 100 unanswered emails in it, including theirs. My apologies to them and to anyone who sent me email to which I didn't respond.

Thanks Von and Fawn, I really appreciate it and I am sorry for the long delay.

Back to the camping trip. I would have been 13 then and Ron 12, althrough Ron was already a few inches taller than me. We decided to spend the night camping on the Dry Farms above Anderson's place, which we'd spent some time fencing. As you can see, we set out with high hopes. I was carrying my sleeping bag wrapped in that canvas tarp, strapped to my Boy Scout back pack. Ron had his sleeping bag under his arm. Little did we know that it was going to rain that night--hard.

The canvas tarp kept the rain off our faces, but it was too short to wrap all the way underneath us, so we spent the night with our feet (and sleeping bags) in the mud. I was never so glad to see the sun as I was that next morning.

Someone uploaded this photo some time in the last few months. Who Are they?

I have no idea who or when. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention, because it was just there one day recently.  Who are they? Who uploaded it?

I'm thinking this might be  a good birthday present for Jack. What do you think?

Show us what you've got.

Don't be bashful. Go to the Upload Form and show us what you've got. The door is getting crowded, but we've got plenty of fridge door magnets left.
