Family Reunions

Things you need to plan for when you come to Grover:

Sleeping accommodations, travel arrangements, group food, your own snacks, and clean up before you depart.

If you want to sing along with Nancy, practice these songs...

Family Reunion

The Old Grover House

Grandma's House in the early days

Grandma's House

All seven siblings, and most of our spouses, children and grandchildren were together in Grover. The only short-coming to the entire event was the absence of so many loved ones, including Grandma Anagene (and yes, we now have enough grandmas so that we have to be specific about which one we mean). Let's all put our best efforts toward getting everyone together next time around.

Well, it's happened. The recent posting of "off-topic" posts finally forced us to move the bulletin board and other pages to a "moderated forum".

In some ways, it will be a huge improvement. You'll be able to

  • Select your own UserID and password for the message boards. (The email, phone and birthday pages remain under your old passwords and are not open to the public).

  • Edit your posts if you change your mind about what you said.

  • Use "smilies" and other formatting in your messages.

  • Send email back and forth from within the bulletin boards.

Perhaps the most important thing about the new format is that we can control who can sign up and who can't. For now, I've selected "sign up and start posting" option. If we continue to get spammers, there is the option to let new users sign up only AFTER their are approved by the administrators. I'd hate to get to that point, but it's an option.

Try it out,  sign up for an account today.

HBWM

When and Where Will We Meet Again?

We need to start planning for the next reunion. Grover, Phoenix,  Pocatello, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Manteca are all possibilities. Use the form below to present your suggestions.

Jack has raised the suggestion that we try to organize a CHRISTMAS get together. Let's make that happen, okay?

Remember: This is not a secure site. Anything you post is shared with the world as we know it.

I have spoken with Margie Bradshaw. We are welcome to use their summer home in Grover as needed for lodging this summer. I have the location of the keys. She sends her love and prayers also. Julia and her husband will be there also through July but as there are 5 bedrooms, we should still be welcome to have some sleeping space.
Saturday 4/30/2005 12:43:24 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Nancy's message made me realize we ought to have a separate place for reunion plans. I moved her message here. I'll add the ability to leave information about your plans (dates you want to be in Grover), as I get time. Note that you don't want to be too specific about your names as this site is, theoretically, available to anyone in the world.

I left this message earlier but it seems to have disappeared. I spoke with Margie Bradshaw. We are welcome to use their home in Grover for lodging this summer as needed. Julia and her husband will be there during July also but the home has 5 bedrooms so there will still be space available. She also sends her love and prayers to Mom.

We are planning on tenting, but if something else is available we will do that. Love to all.
Tuesday 5/3/2005 4:32:43 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
This is not strictly reunion related, but it just occurred to me that it would be REALLY great to have other photos to add to the site. If you can, please email them to the High Bubba Webmaster and we'll start an album section.

It's good to be part of such a wonderful family. I love you all.

Let's plan on a sing-a-long. I have made copies of the words to all of our old favorite songs so that everyone can sing without crowding around the piano to see the lyrics.I will make folders for everyone so no excuses, everyone needs to sing! If you think of songs you would like us to try, let me know so I can add them to the list. So far we have "Cool Water; The Cry of the Wild Goose; Ghost Riders; The Sierry Peaks; Home on the Range; Just Beyond the Moon (a new one I think everyone will like)Don't Fence Me In and My Rocky Mountain Home."

No I'm not crazy! Just technilogically impaired. I kept getting a message that said the page was on vacation. So I just keep sending it. oops. It's a good thing you all know and love me!
Thursday 5/19/2005 8:58:06 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Sorry about that Nancy. I am editing pages and messages and that sometimes makes for hiccups.
Thursday 5/19/2005 (PDT) George No Address Left
Nancy, send me the words to the songs and I'll make them available for download from this page.
Saturday 5/21/2005 5:39:43 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
Danell and I are still planning on being there late July 1 or early July 2. Please remind me who Margie Bradshaw is. Love you all.

A little pity please for the technologically impaired. I did the same thing. Margie Bradshaw is a sister to Nola Jean Leavitt, dauther of Uncle Delos and Aunt Loreen Gardner.
Sunday 5/22/2005 12:16:52 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Sorry, Jack. I couldn't resist the temptation. I have only had this problem once myself, and I still don't really know what is causing it for sure. For a while I though it had to do with simulataneous posts by two people, but that doesn't seem to be the case after all. I do know that if you get the dreaded, "Appointments Only", page hitting the Refresh button apparently resubmits the same message, as happened to Jack, even though it doesn't clear the error itself. Ain't technology grand?
Sunday 5/22/2005 (PDT) George No
Still wrestling with the intermittent problem of the dreaded "Appointments Only" page when you try to submit a post. I finally experienced it myself and have a little better insight into it. The post is actually being submitted even though you get the error page. So, if you hit "Refresh" button, or if you go back and submit the same message again from the same page, you'll end up with multiple copies. Until I find the culprit and fix it, please try this instead, if you get the error: 1. Use the "BacK" arrow to get to the page where you composed your message and copy it (just in case it didn't get posted). 2. Return to the Home Page. This will clear the message. 3. Return to the message page to see if the message actually did get posted. If it did, you're golden. If not, paste it back into the message box and try again. Again, my apologies for the inconvenience.
Sunday 5/22/2005 1:33:54 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
I think I found my problem--apparently spelling does count. :( Please let me know if you get the error again.

Dang?

Everyone! please check out the song lyrics. Not just for the practice, see what HBWM has done with them. I cried.
Tuesday 5/24/2005 (PDT) HBWM No
Dang it, who did I make cry this time? (Yolanda is always telling me I'm an insensitive redneck.)
Tuesday 5/24/2005 5:19:18 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Aunt Nancy, It is good to know that I am not the only bawl baby in this family, and if it makes you feel any better, I cried too.
Tuesday 5/24/2005 8:41:00 PM (PDT) Amanda No Address Left
So, am I counting correctly? There are really and truly 3 places I can leave a post? I could have a wicked good time here, couldn't I? :)
Wednesday 5/25/2005 11:10:50 AM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
Yeah, I cried, too.
Friday 5/27/2005 6:32:12 PM (PDT) JoAnna No Address Left
somehow I missed this page until now. I really love you. Is there anything sweeter than tears of love and memories. I remember driving to Logan in that stupid green Plymouth station wagon and singing all the way. We need the words to Elmer's Tune and the Wyoming State song. My class reunion is Sat. the 2nd so we will be arriving on Sat p.m. I think a Sunday or Monday cookout is the best plan. love to all
Saturday 5/28/2005 9:38:41 AM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
This website has been the means of keeping my sanity. I can touch base and feel "home", just a little from here. I miss you all so much.
Saturday 5/28/2005 7:45:15 PM (PDT) Tom No Address Left
I'm printing the song book to take to Mom. I think I will talk to her about the silver lining of this experience -- of a family coming together over the miles, of years melting away, of priceless memories, of different times. I hate to make her cry, but I want her to understand that something important happened to all of us. I think we kind of remembered who we are and where we came from, at least I did. I/we can't do much to help her, but I'm going to try to get her to understand that she is a focal point of all our lives and that the best in us derives from her.
Sunday 5/29/2005 4:40:58 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I spent the night at home in Grover on Friday night. It was sad and difficult but I needed to be there. I put away the dishes Mom had out since she was in the middle of spring cleaning. I sorted the mail out and found the Physicians Mutual information. I took it to IF and left it in Mom's room for Tom. I also called her bishop and asked that the ward help take care of the yard. Sam and I took flowers to all of our family graves. That was bitter sweet too. Mom told me she has never missed going to Bedford on Memorial Day morning that she can remember. I "explained" to Dad and Grandma and Grandpa that she would have been there if she could. Allan, if you get a chance to go, perhaps you could trim out some of the bushes that are getting unruly. And her windows could use washing. That's about all I could see. Tom, thanks for putting into words what I have been feeling. Love you all.
Monday 5/30/2005 3:34:54 PM (PDT) Amanda No Address Left
Dad, I just got home from birthday/Memorial weekend campout, and your words really touched me (like usual!). I am so proud of this whole family for coming together in our time of need; relying on each other for comfort and being strong for each other. And I have learned alot about all of you and have grown to love you all so much more! once again, love to all. . .
Tuesday 5/31/2005 8:30:20 PM (PDT) Allan C. No Address Left
Hello all, I just found this page! I'll have to check out the song book, it sounds like a must! I thought that once hiring and training and gearing up season was over I could relax a bit but am now rethinking it. So I can only discuss the reunion stuff here though. What happens if I say, hope you all had a good weekend? I think that after reading all the posts on this page I'm in need of a 3 day weekend trip to Star Valley to do some yardwork and window washing. I've always felt my home was back there and now it's really been confirmed. Thank you all!
Wednesday 6/1/2005 (PDT) Josh jbrowarrior2003@yahoo.com
This is the greatest Page in the whole world. I get to see how my family is doing from 6000 miles away. Keep posting and I will try to follow along as best I can. Taiwan is Awesome and I love it. I Love all you guys.
Wednesday 6/1/2005 11:13:06 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
Josh. It's great to hear from you. We all wish you continued success in your mission. Take lots of photos and send them to the hbwm to post here, okay?
Wednesday 6/1/2005 12:55:45 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I have a suggestion for the cookout. Let's set it up as a pot luck with a sign up sheet here on the web site. That way, the food will be taken care of with no last minute panic. No need to worry about the menu. All our old favorites will do nicely don't you think?
Wednesday 6/1/2005 1:06:09 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
May I also suggest a family/house/yard clean up activity. The inside of the house will need some cleaning as well as the yard. Perhaps Monday morning we could devote to making the place 'shine'. Mom has been a little distressed that her spring cleaning was interrupted. I think it would please her.
Wednesday 6/1/2005 2:46:07 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Re: pot luck sign up. No problem. Start here and I will move any food related posts later.
Saturday 6/4/2005 3:05:45 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
I started the potluck sign up (see below), although I don't have time right now to make it interactive. I'll get to that as soon as I can. In the meantime, add your contributions here and I'll move them later.
Sunday 6/5/2005 9:05:46 AM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
We will bring chips and salsa or chip dip for the cookout. A nice variety.
Monday 6/6/2005 5:50:58 PM (PDT) JoAnna No Address Left
please add renee and girls and jim to the attendee list. I will make potato salad and probably bake some cupcakes. can't wait to see you guys. oh yeh, I have RUNNING WATER in my kitchen, as well as a new disposer and the dishwasher is working. OH HAPPY DAY!
Monday 6/6/2005 7:27:55 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
Hooray for running water!!

Tuesday 6/7/2005 11:11:21 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Ya'll down there in Arizona have all the modern conveniences now, even running water INSIDE the house. What will you think of next?
Tuesday 6/7/2005 11:43:49 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Re: Drinks. A variety of youth and adult beverages would be good, Em.

Wednesday 6/8/2005 1:51:53 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Thanks, if I can't be helpful, at least I can amuse you.
Wednesday 6/8/2005 5:37:00 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
Em, your Unca George is so helpful. I checked the link at left. It is the Bar H you're looking for. I'm sure you could have figured it out,(maybe already have) but I wanted to feel important too.
Wednesday 6/8/2005 5:43:47 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Nancy, you have your whole own time zone. How much more important do you need to be?
Thursday 6/9/2005 9:14:07 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
what an intriguing question. I'll consider it carefully and let you know!!
Sunday 6/12/2005 2:56:59 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Nancy recently contributed the Wyoming State song, which I've added to the family reunion song book. It's available as a download from the link "practice these songs". Please contribute any other stories, songs or pictures you'd like to see added either to the song book, to the memory book Nancy is putting togehter, or for the picture gallery being developed for the website. Thanks.
Monday 6/13/2005 9:51:47 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Hey Uncle George, what us in Star Valley and Utah, we have to same time zone as aunt Nancy, do we not count? LOL! Sorry Aunt Nancy didn't mean to burst your bubble. love to all!!
Sunday 6/19/2005 4:09:35 PM (PDT) Jack jakehepworth221@hotmail.com
We are planning on brining corn from here. It is delicious. The whole family is really excited about seeing you all at home, and being able to visit with Grandma Hepworth
Monday 6/20/2005 10:48:53 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
Jack. Corn sounds good, but if you have a choice, could you bring fresh instead of brined?
Monday 6/20/2005 12:21:58 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
Nothing like corn fresh from the brine marshes. Yes, it will be fresh. You will have to slap it.
Monday 6/20/2005 1:37:07 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
What a relief.
Tuesday 6/21/2005 9:22:56 AM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I will be going to SV early Friday 7/1 and going back to SLC on Monday 7/4 late in the day. I would be delighted to help with transportation for Jane either way or both if needed. Rock won't be coming, he started a new job today. No time off.
Tuesday 6/21/2005 10:02:14 AM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I am posting the same message here as the bulletin board. Please everyone take just a minute and send me a paragraph or two of your favorite memories of mom/grandma. Include a little tidbit on something you have learned from her. It doesn't need to be long, just from the heart. This is a request to everyone-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, any other extended family and friends. Life is too busy and too short. Let's take the opportunity to tell her what we feel now instead of only be able to say it too each other later.
Tuesday 6/21/2005 12:17:36 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Good News, Nancy. Tell Rock congratulations for us.
Tuesday 6/21/2005 4:25:17 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
No, job for me yet, but that means that I will be able to come down for the reunion. On the 2nd there is also a Hoopes reunion, and then on the fifth a Hoopes cousin is getting married in Utah, but I will be there again that week. Guess what, you should be able to meet Katey's fiance. He is nice and go for it and tease him, he deserves it. My love to all!
Tuesday 6/21/2005 7:42:57 PM (PDT) JoAnna No Address Left
while we were chatting i had a brain storm that we should have a "family shower" for Kate. Do you know her colors, Beth? since we can't be at her wedding, it will be fun to gift her a little and tease them alot. maybe part of sunday afternoon activites. will you tell your mom, beth, I don't know if she reads the posts. will you also let Becky know that is the plan and hope she can come on sunday afternoon. the date will be sun, july 3 so hope everyone can get together.
Wednesday 6/22/2005 12:29:58 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
great idea to shower Katie!! Looking forward to the reunion more and more.
Wednesday 6/22/2005 3:09:16 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Hey, Katey's colors are red, blue and green. I'm not sure what day they will come to Utah for the other wedding. I think it should be okay though. She would really enjoy it I think. J.R. can take the teasing. He will take it for awhile, and then he will dish it back. He does it to me all the time. I am so excited to see everyone. It is going to be amazing. I send my love to all!!!
Saturday 6/25/2005 4:49:03 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I have a couple of fun family wedding shower games planned for the big event. It will be fun and informative so plan on participating. I will also bring some balloons and have confidence they will be easily blown up by the excess amounts of hot air available. (you know who you are)
Saturday 6/25/2005 5:31:59 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
A couple of people have brought up the issue of scheduling side trips to IF to see mom. We all want to see her, but we don't want to overwhelm her. Let's put on our thinking caps and plan to discuss it tomorrow night.
Saturday 6/25/2005 6:57:16 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Hey, is that supposed to be a compliment Aunt Nancy? J/K. Hope to see everyone there. Love to all.
Saturday 6/25/2005 7:28:41 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
My children and I have contributed our share to Global Warming. We can blow up balloons.
Sunday 6/26/2005 4:11:36 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
In addition to brining, uh, bringing corn, we plan on making Dutch oven pineapple upside down cake, and dutch oven cherry cobbler.
Monday 6/27/2005 6:24:57 AM (PDT) Renee Ready to be COOL in WY
Hey all you wonderful people. Just a request that we have some good "healthy" vittles for the BBQ also. I joined Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago and hate to blow it all in one weekend.
Monday 6/27/2005 9:06:09 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
I'm sure Yolanda will agree with you on that one. She did WW for a long time and she's adamant about sticking to it now.
Monday 6/27/2005 4:49:01 PM (PDT) Derick & Amanda dnapete@cableone.net
Hello to all. I have mentioned this offer to some, and want to extend this offer to all. Derick & I want you all to know we have plenty of room at our home in Idaho Falls. We have 4 extra beds, plenty of floor and even more grass to throw a tent on. We want you all to feel welcome at any time, and could even accomodate (I am sure) everyone at once. We are planning on watching the fireworks the city does on the 4th (quite a show!) So keep that in mind if you would like. Just let us know! Love to all. . .
Monday 6/27/2005 7:37:29 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
George, As Emma would say, "Your house rules Rock, Unca George." Well done!!
Wednesday 6/29/2005 10:23:31 AM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
George, I have a few items to add to the House Rules: 1) If it looks like work, the young guys do it. 2) If it requires heavy lifting, the young guys do it. 3) If it needs to be trimmed/cut/edged/mowed/raked/shoveled, the young guys do it. 4) If it requires dangling precariously from a rope/climbing a steep pitched roof/standing at the tippy top of a tall ladder, the young guys do it. 5) If the very thought of the activity makes the old guys break out in a sweat, the young guys do it.
Wednesday 6/29/2005 4:06:11 PM (PDT) Becky No Address Left
Hi all. I am not able to visit this very often, but it is always great to "hear" from you all. I will be there this coming weekend. I wouldn't miss it. I know Beth said to give a JR a hard time and I agree. If everyone teases him he won't think I am so weird! Love you all and see you Sunday.
Wednesday 6/29/2005 5:29:21 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
To the younger cohorts. I will have some sparklers to share for Sunday evening fun. If anyone else wants to do few fireworks, the more the merrier!

Hello everyone! It's good to read that grandma is improving! Talked to grandma Shumway and it's amazing how well she is. Up and walking around already. It's weird to say the least but it sounds as if both those ladies have quite a bit of fight in em'. Wanted to say I wish I could get to the Valley this weekend but with all our folks gone to southern Utah and Nevada it seems I'm the only chump left to man the battle station. Be careful with those fireworks and I'll be thinking of you all! Give each other a big hug for me please!
Friday 7/1/2005 9:11:38 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
We're bringing an extra person. Lyndsey invited a friend, Annie, to come with her. They take dance classes together.

The reunion has been great.
Wednesday 7/6/2005 1:32:50 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
Good afternoon. We got home around 2:30 this morning and slept in. Well, Lyndsey and I slept in while Yolanda got up to go to work. Thanks to everyone for making this such a wonderful reunion. We did it all, laugh, cry, sing. See you all soon again, I hope.
Thursday 7/7/2005 12:34:01 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
nothing in the world is sweeter than the time I share with people I love. It was so hard to leave. Jane got home just fine. She loves her letters from family so lets keep them going. great week end; great reunion!!

Check out the Video Tom made of his reunion pictures. Frankly, the first time I watched it, I cried. Thanks, Bubba. If you go to the home page, you'll find the link to the newest page where other videos and pictures are accumulating.

In Grover, we discussed a "working weekend" sometime in August to help Tom and Sam get the house winterized and to take care of the tasks that we didn't get around to in July. Labor Day, September 1, falls on a Thursday. Is that a good weekend to try to get to Grover for clean up, etc.?
Tuesday 7/12/2005 (PDT) George No Address Left
I talked to my biz partner about scanning mom's 35 mm slides to digital images. It's not cheap, but not that expensive. If we cull them first, and only scan those that are important and/or of reasonable quality, we can get it done for a few hundred dollars. If you agree, I'll pick them up next time I'm in Grover and have Bruce do it. A scanner that handles 35 mm slides runs $500 to $15,000, so having it done professionally makes sense.
Tuesday 7/12/2005 6:02:38 PM (PDT) Tom No Address Left
I vote to spend the $ to get Mother's slides scanned by Bruce. I've been trying to scan our slides at home and it is a laborious pain in the #!* process. I'm not very happy with the results either. I've also noticed that it's reasonable to skip quite a few of them since there are lots of landscapes and duplications. I probably have skipped about 10% or so without losing any value.
Thursday 7/14/2005 7:54:49 PM (PDT) Hannah Lynn Demerson hldreddogii@yahoo.com
It would be really cool to see you all, so it would be awesome if you got together in California! We could definitely get together if you had it in Manteca - it's about an hour and a half from here.

on Saturday Sept 10th there is a get together for girl cousins only. It is at Shannon Gowans house in Orem. I understand several of Aunt Loreen's daughters will be there along with myself and Aunt Alta's daughter from Pennsylvannia. JoAnna may try to come from Pheonix. It sure would be nice to see more of the girls from far away if possible. Post a message here if you think you might to able to join us and I will pass it along to Shannon.

I think it would be great to go and meet some new family, Aunt Nancy, is there any way I could get a ride down there with you?

Kate and JR were beautiful, happy, composed, sparkling, and wonderful. The reception went well and was enjoyed by all. Look for Sam and Paula to post up some pictures soon. HINT, HINT.

Jack Floated a great idea the last time I talked to him. I think it's such a good idea I decided to run with it. We need to plan at least one Christmas reunion. He offered his home in Manteca, but it really could be anywhere. The thought of being around you guys on Christmas really makes me smile, so I'm asking you all to consider it seriously. Maybe two or three years from now would be the soonest we could all manage to plan and coordinate. What do you think?

I am embarrassed that I have not visited this page in a while. Books have kind of taken over my life (I bought about 45 at a book sale yesterday). Having said that... Getting together at Christmas sometime in the next 2-3 years appeals to me, too (since it was my idea it better). We can better appreciate our siblings, and share the joy of children and grandchildren. Can you imagine the gigantic mess after opening all of the presents?!! If we use our noggins I am sure options will present themselves to take care of the logistics of housing and feeding the GroverHepworths. How does "I'm dreaming of a California Christmas..." sound?

Time to start planning for 2006 in Grover.....
Sunday 4/16/2006 2:08:01 PM (PDT) George No Address Left
The first week in July, 2006, in Grover. The First of July is a Saturday. The 4th is on Tuesday. Sounds like a good week for a get together with a cookout on either the 1st or the 8th.

Come rain, sleet, or even heavy snow, we will be there! Time is going by and all of us are growing up much to quickly. It's important to remember that we need to slow down and take appreciation and admiration for where we all came from. As Unca Jack mentioned... IN DECEMBER!!! I will be thirty, yes... 30, and I would love to keep the Grover Reunion Memories going on forever above and beyond the next thirty years. I do have the ability to slow down and spend time with my family, do you?
Tuesday 5/9/2006 1:09:16 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I will be in Grover on the weekend of the 1st. My 25-year(gulp) class reunion is that day. This is an important year for us to see each other and stay close. I hope everyone can come.
Wednesday 5/10/2006 4:03:38 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
this is an addendum to my last message. I meant and important year for our family to get together and stay close. Shouldn't mix subjects.
Tuesday 5/16/2006 9:03:18 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
This is beginning to shape up as maybe the year the "next" generation takes the lead in getting things organized for a reunion. Nancy will be there, but the rest of the "out-of-towners" may not. Time and responsibilities seem to be conspiring against a full reunion, so I hope those who can be there feel free to organize as you wish.

It sounds like Dericks band has been invited to play in Star Valley for some golf event July 8th. Will anyone be around? Are we having a family get-together? We won't be able to be in Grover the previous weekend, as Derick has to work. Hope to see you all there!!!

We are not going to be able to make it home this year. We will miss you terribly, and hope all who are there enjoy yourselves. Roast a hotdog and burn a marshmellow for us please. We love you all.

I'm going to come over the 4th of July weekend (before).

So, I haven't checked this page for a while and i am off the weekend of the 4th. I am planning on going to SLC to see my sisters, but I will change them a little bit to come home to see those of you that are there. I can't wait to catch up. Maybe I can convince Katey and Beth to come with me ;)
Wednesday 6/28/2006 9:11:26 AM (PDT) Em J No Address Left
We will be there this weekend, probably Saturday thru Monday. Ike and dad (Tom) will be heading Wednesday to start working on some things around Gramma's house. Anyone that can be there, have a safe trip.

When, I might come down for the weekend?
Monday 8/21/2006 11:08:52 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I am going to Afton/Grover Oct 6-8. It sure would be fun to have as many of us as possible for a birthday party for Mom. Em J,we haven't been together on our bday for a few years, how about it? And Danell's is the same weekend. We could have one serious blow out party. Open invitation to all. I'll make the cake!
Saturday 8/5/2006 10:00:42 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
OCTOBER IN GROVER. How does that sound? Anyone able to make it?
Tuesday 9/5/2006 4:22:04 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
It's beginning to look like a lot of us will be there in October. Let's chat again soon and do some general planning. Can't wait to see you all!
Sunday 9/10/2006 10:57:58 PM (PDT) Renee No Address Left
Looks like I will either come up with Jim for the birthdays or I will come the following week so that Rachel can come without missing school. She has a week off school from Oct 16-20. So hope it works out that we can at least come up for a visit even if we don't get to see everyone.
Thursday 9/14/2006 5:52:37 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Renee, Let me know what weekend you will be there. I am for sure coming the first weekend, but I would really like to see you too. I can come up the next weekend too (actually I think I am having a Mary Kay party that weekend now that I think about it and will be there both weekends!) Everyone traveling, please be safe and can't wait to see you!
Friday 9/15/2006 4:42:08 PM (PDT) Em J No Address Left
Well family, it's official... we are going to Seattle around the same time as the Grover Reunion. That is where Ike's family is, and it has been two years since our last visit. I am very excited to be seeing his family again, as his Grandmother and Aunt are coming over from Japan and will probably be the only chance my kids and I will have to meet his Grandmother. I am very sad that we won't be able to juggle in (mainly finacially) both reunions... So please, please put a candle on the cake for me and celebrate birthdays with tons of love and fun! Also...... please get to discussing some needed decisions. Everyone traveling.. do so in safety! All our love, Em, Ike, Kiya, and Koby

Hey, I'm just learning of a gathering in October! What are the dates? I need to get up there. I'm the scumbag grandson who hasn't seen his loved grandma for... too long! If it's timed good I may have some elk meat to cook up for us all. I'm excited to see you all. We could do some good brown fishing too, yee haw!
Saturday 9/16/2006 1:21:16 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
As an added incentive to anyone considering the trip to Grover but not sure, I am bringing homemade biscuits and strawberry jam. That will make it seem more like days gone by.
Saturday 9/16/2006 1:29:59 PM (PDT) Allan C. No Address Left
Hey thanks Aunt Nancy! I regret that the elk hunt will not have occured yet and reserves have been ate! Will see to some trout though! I think we will all need our warm clothes as it has snowed in the Uinta's. See you then!
Monday 9/18/2006 8:17:46 AM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Can I just say how excited I am to see everyone?
Tuesday 9/19/2006 4:29:50 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
Let's plan on a big family meal on Saturday evening. I am planning to make a big pot of Humter's Stew. That way we can eat and visit and reminesce and stuff. I think everyone will be there by then. OK?
Tuesday 9/19/2006 4:31:04 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
I realize not everyone loves stew like I do, so an alternative for little ones and others will be available.
Wednesday 9/20/2006 5:46:06 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
As long as the hunters don't get "stewed" everything should be OK...
Friday 9/29/2006 10:23:28 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
I'll be there to take charge on the 6th. :)
Friday 9/29/2006 10:24:36 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
Nancy, If it's all the same to you, I'd like Hunter's stew, as the variety you are offering is unfamiliar to me and I have become increasingly picky as I age.
Friday 9/29/2006 5:12:25 PM (PDT) JoAnna No Address Left
Dream on Georgie boy! I will be in charge as usual. love
Saturday 9/30/2006 (PDT) George No address left
Yes, dear. I know. But I might bluff some of the younger ones for a while....Funny story when I called to make reservations at the Bar H. The woman I talked to asked my name. I said "George" and she said okay, before I could say my last name. Okay, it's still a small town, I thought. Then I said, "By the way, I think my sister is staying there too." She said, "Joann?". I just laughed. Yup, still a very small town.
Saturday 9/30/2006 2:37:37 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
Ok guys, I will proof read my submissions more thoroughly from now on. But tread softly oh ye of the quick wit and sharp tongues. Else your benevolent younger sister may take her revenge at an unexpected yet opportune time, perhaps while the stew is cooking. (insert evil laugh here)
Sunday 10/1/2006 9:08:28 PM (PDT) Jack No Address Left
Who invited the Humters? And if they get stewed, well watch out.
Monday 10/2/2006 1:22:31 PM (PDT) Amanda No Address Left
I think you guys are all getting old and a little whacky! No offense meant!
Monday 10/2/2006 4:17:56 PM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Manda, I agree with you! I can't believe it is on Monday! I want it to be Friday. This is like Christmas this year for some odd reason! So, I loved Unca George's story! Sometime's I miss that small of town, and knowing EVERYONE!
Tuesday 10/3/2006 9:33:50 AM (PDT) Em J No Address Left
So I called to make reservations at Bar H for Saturday night....YEAH!!! Manda and I and our 4 kids and hopefully Cindy will be coming on Saturday, as early as possible, to stay one night! Thats all we could manage, but I think we can make it be enough. See you all very soon!
Wednesday 10/11/2006 8:32:57 AM (PDT) George No Address Left
October, 2006 was a lot of fun and I'm so grateful so many of you could make it. NEXT YEAR.... Let's get serious now about planning. Things are going to change, probably a lot, in the next few months, but we really need to make this happen. I'm happy with either July or October--but I'd like to see as many of you as possible at least once. I'll try to get a poll together in the next few days and make it available here. LOVE YOU ALL.
Wednesday 10/4/2006 5:49:05 PM (PDT) Renee No Address Left
I hope they are ready for all of us at the Bar H! It's going to be fun! Rachel is looking forward to seeing Jaq. Can't wait!!!
Thursday 10/5/2006 11:16:10 AM (PDT) Beth No Address Left
Em, I am glad that you can make it! I think everyone at 1800Contacts knows that I am going home (most of them know of SV from me too!) this weekend and that I am so excited! My roommate Laurie doesn't want me to go, because she doesn't like staying alone in our house. There is no place like home!
Saturday 9/16/2006 1:19:07 PM (PDT) Nancy No Address Left
Allan, the plan is for as many of us that can to be in Grover Oct 6-8th. I believe Jo and Lee may stay longer, not positive. Please come if you can! And I love both trout and elk meat.
Saturday 9/30/2006 10:48:03 AM (PDT) Tom No Address Left
I'm with George. Not too sure what humpter's stew is all about, Nancy. Is that an old native american recipe?
